Carbamide (urea) is highly-concentrated mineral nitrogen fertilizer. Nitrogen in this fertilizer is in an amide form. Carbamide is an agronomically-effective fertilizer which has few benefits:

  • high concentration of nitrogen which is fully water-soluble;
  • high mobility of nutrients and their slow decomposition in the soil;
  • urea has a little acidifying effect;
  • it is recommended to apply carbamide for acid light-textured soil (sandy loam or sandy type of soil) in contrast with other nitrogen fertilizers;
  • Cl and SO4 absence accelerates the process of nitrification in the soil;
  • especially effective when applied on irrigated land;
  • has beneficial effects when applied for foliar fertilization.

The dosage for a single application of a carbamide as a basal fertilizer should not be more than 2,5 c/ha. The density of a solution for foliar applications is 5-30 %.
